My mum is retiring tomorrow

I find it amazing to think that tomorrow will be my mum’s last ever in full-time work. She is a nursery nurse at my old primary school in Brighton, my sister went there too.

She’s an absolute marvel with children and she has comforted and educated so many of them over the years. She is firm but fair, caring but no pushover and the classes who were lucky enough to have her with them seemed to love her to bits.

I know that she is excited about her retirement and about having more time to do things she enjoys and to take advantage of life.
