The educational process of writing a blog

I’m certainly finding that I am learning a lot from writing a blog for the first time. Luckily there are so many tips and ideas online. As a great admirer of technology but not a person who finds ‘techy things’ easy, there has been a host of little things to learn.  One of the most helpful things for me has been learning from blogs that I admire. A selection of them are linked to my own.

I have asked people on Twitter for tips and suggestions of other blogs to look at- if you have more, please let me know.

I have so far found writing blog pieces a real pleasure. I enjoy the art of writing itself and it’s something I’d like to practice a lot more throughout my life. In addition a blog seems a great way to share some personal experiences that you feel may be instructive to others and of championing the efforts of inspirational people/organisations that you think that the world needs to know more about. As I am lucky enough to learn about brilliant charities every week, this is an easy task!

Thinking about what you want to share with others is also useful in helping you think about what your priorities are- it’s an educational process. You don’t have time to share everything about your life (and who would want to read it?). But you can share a few things that other people might enjoy or be provoked by.

For anyone who is thinking of writing a blog themselves, from my experience so far I’d say go for it!
