This week I will be participating in my first ever Parliamentary Inquiry, on behalf of the Small Charities Coalition and Young Charity Trustees.
The Inquiry, chaired by David Blunkett MP, is being organised by CAF and is about getting younger people involved in giving and in general connecting them more deeply to the charity sector http://www.growinggiving.org.uk/
Here is what Leon Ward, a passionate advocate for young people in the Sector, and Young Charity Trustee Ambassador, had to say in Third Sector: http://leonward.thirdsector.co.uk/2013/03/21/the-sector-must-get-involved-in-an-upcoming-caf-inquiry-into-growing-giving/
I’m looking forward to being able to make some points about how smaller charities very much have their part to play in this. Young people supporting charities in their local community will hopefully show them the direct affect charities have on the lives of those they support and also how easy it can be to start getting involved in their decision-making structures and helping to shape their work.
